Did you say your female friend met a guy named Cuizi?
Take a shower, it's sunneh outside
Re-danse La Poutine? That's that Danse La Poutine Orgasmic Remix and it's been posted on the lovely Pagettemusic blog. Oh you missed it, well click HERE.
It never really stopped, it just comes back with Springtime.
Don't know what you plan to do today, but I am watching movies on the balcony.
Breakfast is past, future, and present type business. So is Mr.Sandman. This makes croissants even better than they already are. Suchard approved. Download: The Four Aces - Mr.Sandman (Zshare)
The Cobra soundtrack has a lot of fantastic songs. This is something to walk in the streets to. Or something to drive on a forest road to. Or something to watch the sky to. Or something to do whatever you feel like doing to. Robert Tepper has hits for days. Download: Robert Tepper - Angel Of The City (Zshare)
Zapped!
Shout out to the science roof.
Bonus! MJG samples Journey. Cam'ron did it and it was hot. This one is cool too. Download: MJG - Small Town Girl (Zshare)
Lil Wayne loves the Gremlins: "Lil Wayne states in his song Sky's The Limit from Da Drought 3 that when he was 5 his favorite movie was the Gremlins. He also states that it has nothing to do with his song and thought he should just mention that." (Shout out to Teki for this).
When you need a good new rap song with a beat that sounds like Scarface (the movie, not the rapper) meets Tangerine Dream, you can always listen to this Rich Boy track. Download: Rich Boy - Out The Hood (Zshare)
It's all mixtape joints that you had at some point but in crappy quality, maybe not the whole song, but you loved it anyway, but you lost them and you kinda forgot about them. Well that Duke Da God CD has all of them in full length versions and good (enough) quality. It's a true pleasure.
It's rap day over here.
Need more rap.
This playlist has quite a few bangers. And it starts with the (already) cult classic PURE COCAINE.
Hello Teki, what's new in Pour Les Filles III land?
J-mat is putting the finishing touches to the mixes, Orgasmic is switching little details up in the beats and Cuizinier is re-recording the verses he's not 200% happy with, for one last time before they all go to the mastering and the tape is a wrap. Akroe and The Judge's artwork is almost done and it looks amazing!
Speaking of which, can you give us an idea of what the artwork is gonna be like?
It's another flip on Akroe's last two covers. It's insane, full of amazing little details, like an upgraded version of the first two artworks.
Can you give us the down low on your involvement in your cousin's tape?
I have no major involvement, I just give my opinion and a tiny bit of direction, sometimes Cuiz pays attention to it, sometimes he doesn't ("Michael!"), but I'm not worried, as long as Cuizi's happy. Apart from that I help with a little background vocal here and a little chorus there and of course there is the traditional Cuizi/Teki joint, the Fratelli Brothers joint, better yet the Miranda Cousins joint.
What is it going to be like this time? Was it hard following up on classics such as Très Chic and Vacanze in Italia from the previous tapes?
True, it was hard but I think we pulled it off. It's very very different from the two tracks you just mentioned though. It's a totally different approach. This time it's a more aggressive, take no prisoners, blow the submarine up, no chorus, radical, extreme, controversial HARD AS FUCK track, probably the hardest in the whole TTC repertoire. It kind of sets things straight on the traditionally hip hop topic of biters and haters. More specifically Cuizi's verses touch the subject of people copying Orgasmic's signature dance-jacking half time beats. Hip Hop tracks sampling European dance songs seemed to be popping up everywhere in the last 2 years and we're not saying these US rappers took it from us -well ok actually we're saying it, just for the fuck of it- but we certainly did it first. Like the Heathen says, we love the music these people make and certain aspects of their music certainly inspired us, but their audience needs to know that Cuiz and Orgasmic were doing that dance-inspired shit for a while before these rappers even thought of it. Which is logical because in a way, as Europeans, dance music is more a part of our background.
Do you remember the first time you heard Cuizinier rapping?
I believe it was in 1998. Tido and I used to freestyle and play records every week in this shop called "Le Shop" in Paris, and Cuiz would come all the time and watch us and study in silence without telling us. One day I'm chilling at his place eating some of his world famous spaghetti al pesto and he tells me he wrote a couple of verses. He rapped them to me and they were surprisingly good...something about a "char d'assault...I don't remember exactly how it went though, it was so long ago, 10 years! This whole period is a little bit of a blur to me now. Thanks Teki. One last thing, I know a lot of avid Cuizinier Mondays readers are wondering, when are you guys going to let the Heathen post a full song from Pour Les Filles 3 on Cuizinier Mondays?
Now that the tape is finished, or will be by the time this interview gets online, we might very well let him post a full song next week! So stay tuned. Thank you.
SERIOUSLY EXCLUSIVE!!! I stole this song at the Pour Les Filles studio. It is NOT on Pour les Filles Vol.III, however it was recorded during the PLF3 sessions. So what is it? Well it's a goddamn exclusive, baby! Cuizinier, Spank Rock, and Pase Rock have fun with David Rubato's Circuit. All for you, ONLY for you.
EXCLUSIVE! Classic Fratelli Brothers track off Pour Les Filles Vol.2 available for the first time in instrumental and acappella versions! Get your remix on.
More exclusiveness! I was looking for a finished copy of Pour Les Filles Vol.III at Cuizinier's house while he was at the supermarket. Well, I couldn't find ANYTHING. But I found this.
Insanely good, Springtime is showing its sunny face, the balcony is officially open, and I'm watching Sixteen Candles. Plus I'm about to spend the weekend in Paris for the last Pour Les Filles Vol.III studio session.
Can you tell us a little bit about the volume 3 of Cuizinier's Pour Les Filles mixtapes. Is it completed yet? When is it dropping?
From what I hear May 12 is the release date, but honestly I can't really say more cause it's Area 51 over there, they're being very strict about not leaking information, and I don't wanna end up tied to a chair or something. I'm not trying to mess with Mr.Friendly on this one. No spoilo.
Can't you just give us a list of the songs that Orgasmic sampled/covered on this volume? Pretty please?
You gotta be kiddin'. I cannot do that. Absolutely not. All I can say is read Cuizinier Mondays closely, maybe you'll find some hints.
What are the main differences between this volume 3 and the previous volumes?
This is the realest Pour Les Filles ever. It's all love. The boys have matured, it's grown and sexy, they went from boyz to men on this one for sure. Girls will love it. But the truth is boys and girls will love it. It's something everybody can relate to, all the aspects of love. It's life right there. Don't worry, it's dropping and you will be happeh.
Can you talk a little bit about the process of hosting a Cuizinier tape? How did you approach it this time?
It's a big adventure. Basically every time Cuiziner starts working on a track he calls me and be like "come to Paris NOW". And even though I usually wait for tapes to be completely put together to do the hosting thing, like for Raze tapes or my own stuff, with Cuizinier it's a different thing. There's some kind of mystique about it, I can't even listen to the songs beforehand. I take my TGV, watch some dvds and eat sandwiches in there, Heathen routine style, and go directly to the studio when I get to Paris. There I discover the songs and it's all about improvising on the spot. J Mat (who records and mixes the songs) plays me a track while Cuizinier is mysteriously nowhere to be found, and I have to come up with something. It's some Mc Guyver shit, it's crunch time, you don't really have a weapon to play with, but you gotta be creative and just find the magic. Once I'm done, Cuizinier appears out of nowhere like a white knight and gives his feedback. Good times.
Tell us about Cuizinier Mondays, are you really gonna do this every Monday?
I have no choice really. I'm under a contract. I don't even really control what's happening over here. There's other people involved, I can't give their names, but believe me they're making sure I get this done every Monday. So yeah, every Monday you will get info about Pour Les Filles. Watch for the clues, they are out there. Keep an eye on the Cuizinier Mondays Facebook group too, I'm sure more clues will be revealed on there. Cloverfield ain't got nothing on Cuizinier Mondays.
Thank you Genevan Heathen, do you have any shout out you wish to give?
Oh I'm all about the shout outs. Cuizinier, DJ Orgasmic, J Mat, Teki Latex, So Fresh Squad, Mattfoley (Miami never lies), DJ Raze (where you at?!?!), $tunts/Institubes, Omnikrom (I gotta come back to Montreal to dance la poutine again!), Kid Rolex (Rolexx???), Oliver MG (aka The Mist), Tacteel (it's a Match), Para One, Yogi, Monty, Judd Katz, Tim Wagner (our comment board host), Benny, Lucero, Saphir, La Caution, Tomili, Romain "Jacob" Rock (shoot out), L.E.D, Redfoxx, Miss Jessy, Preppy Boys Sailing Club, The Judge, Alexandra Lee. MORE RACHEL BLAKE INTERVIEWS SOON
TOTALLY EXCLUSIVE. This is footage I got at the studio. Some computer was open and its Itunes had mad Pour Les Filles Vol.III songs on it. Cuizinier and J Mat were out for food. So I did this quick recording for you. If there is no Cuizinier Mondays next week...well, wish me luck.
